Good morning all, Sorry we have not written in a couple of days. Not much is happening. On the 16th we went to the naotary's office to sign Joe's "sickness" paper.We decided to give HIM gastro. You see we need to blame it on the men....lol. We went to do groceries because we invited our friends over for pasta. We found these great bottled Italian tomatoes.Supper was pretty good if I do say so myself. But there was no basil to be found anywhere, so it was not quite "there".
Yesterday we went to the botanical gardens with 1 on the couples we met.We took the metro there. Wow now that was an experience. First of all it was 25 cents a person!!!!! Secondly the escalator was about 4 times as long as ours. And there were 2 of them. It blows the mind how deep we were underground. It is much older than the one in Montreal. Apparently the deepest metro in the world is here in Kiev at Lavra ( the pilgramage place.... which we are going to on Monday if there is no appointment). The botanical gardens were really not that great. A few flowers here and there. Joe called it " The botanical forest" It was huge and there were trees everywhere. We walked for 5 hours yesterday. Needless to say our legs and feet were sore. Again people.... the city of many hills. Up and down!!!!! We all (6) went out for dinner. This was the most expensive dinner we ate....$31 for 2.
Today is cloudy and we are going to do NADA!!!!! We need a day of no running around. Tonight we are going out for dinner with the couple we met at our pre-adoption course.
Grace, we love the borsch here. We ate it at every restaurant that has it!!! That is until we get fed up. Though I am starting to crave a burger right about now. I know they have TGIF here. We will do that soon I think. We have only been here 12 days so far so we still want the eat Ukranian food.
